The course takes on average 8 instructional days but this can vary a fair bit. The progression is on average as follows.

  • Day 4 Adding Power - We usually spend Day 4 familiarising our self with the motor and practising ground control.

  • Day 5-6 - First flight. day 5 and 6 are the days of your first flights. these a short 10-minute local circuit flights with lots of takeoffs and landings.

  • Day 7-8 Skill consolidation and first small cross country flights

  • CP Once the above are completed and you show the correct safe attitude to the flight you will be issued your CP rating which allows you to go and fly outside of a school environment. (yet restricted to been in site of your launch site) This is encouraged and is a great way to gain confidence in your piloting abilities.
